Did you watch Dragons’ Den last night? What did you think?

Dragon's Den Value My Stuff Now

Did you watch Dragon’s Den tonight on BBC?

Even though it was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done, I was really delighted with the outcome. It was filmed back in May this year and I stood for more than 2 and a half hours in front of the dragons. Therefore I was quite scrared how it would be edited in tonight’s programme… What do you make of it?

Can you tell us what’s happened since?…

Firstly, congratulations! Liked the concept of your site. I can see it as a house hold name in the near future i.e. go compare, money supermarket etc…

When watching the programme I had some ideas that would increase the audience of your website/company. You limit the audience by valuing antiques only, why don’t you have a separate part of the site for ANY item. You could also integrate your site with ebay, allowing the ebay user to get a rough valuation before they decide to sell or add a ‘buy it now’ price.

I think you did well Patrick and the site is very neat. And I couldn’t help but noticing there is a striking resemblance between yourself and Theo, he just had to invest… :-)

Yes Patrick i watched the show last night, I thought you did wee to come away with 2 dragons and the money you required, well done

By the way did you value Duncans items?

I thought this was a brilliant idea from the word go! Patrick, you were great. I was most impressed with your ability to stay so calm under what must have been a really scary interrogation. Imo you made a lasting good impression on everyone who watched, and I was so delighted that two of the best Dragons decided to invest in your internet business. I will most certainly look forward to getting valuations for some of our family’s inherited items.
Good luck. I’m sure the website will be a fantastic success! Well, it looks like it already is! Deborah and Theo are no fools! Congratulations on winning them over!

Hi, just watched the DD on catch up tv. I thought that you were very good and well deserved of getting the investment required. Well done you and also on having a really great idea and well designed website. I will def be keeping a watch on your inevitable success.

Well done on securing the dragons investment, your website/business is a great idea, wish you every success :)

2 and a half hours stood in front of the dragons, wow! thats a long time, didn’t realise what we see on the telly was a highlighted version.

Well done on getting that investment. A great idea. I’m curious, what’s the most expensive thing you have ever valued?

Thanks so much for all your kind comments …
Yes I was in there for over 2 and half hours which was edited down to 10 minutes… That is why I was quite nervous watching it, as I was unsure how it would come across.
It was great how Duncan went out, saying he would value all his stuff at how, which he hasn’t done yet to date… I chased him last week, but he is still on hols in Mougins, France :-)
I will start a new blog now on What Happened after… Join me there…
I am new to blogging (as you probably gathered!), so have to find my way round things…

All the best and thanks again for your kind comments!!

Most expensive item has been a De Lempicka painting which we valued last week for $2.000.000 – 3.000.000 … Amazing price actually…
The second most expensive was a Monet painting at £1-1.5 million…

Richard coen says:

Watching dragons den you were great, but I understand peter’s concerns, google adwords will kill you in costs, work on smo and seo, cheaper and more beneficial.
Also you have limited yourself to too few revenue opportunities, there are many more. Advertising is only one and with only 100000 unique visitors it is limited unless you partner rather than sell space but you need to be careful to retain your integrity.
eBay etc have great success and with your valuation clients – the next logical step is to sell – can you do this?

Have just watched DD. I thought this was a fantastic idea. I have been contemplating getting some items valued but really had no idea to go about it and who to trust. Your feature on DD was excellent and I am pleased you managed to get 2 dragons on board. Well done Patrick, I will be using this site and recommending it.

Hello Patrick
Just watched recording of your programme. Wonderful!
You seem such a lovely man!
Can’t wait to send in my stuff from the attic!
Well done!

Many thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated!

I agree with everyone else. Just watched DD and had to check your site out.

We have had all sorts of antiques mounting up here for years and the problem being they havent gone on ebay since we have no idea of their value and we cant take them to an antique dealers for a valuation since the nearest 1 is quite far away.

Glad I found the site, because i’ll be sure to raid the loft and use this site to get things valued :D

Good show, you were very brave and professional. Great business idea and I will certainly be using your services in the future. Your website takes the stuffiness out of antique valuation, well done!

Well done Patrick.

I remember watching you on DD, i was extremely impressed with the idea and also the way you handled yourself.

The whole concept is perfect in my opinion. Set up and managed by an authentic auctioneer.

I wish you every success.

Dave
