Hidden gems around the home

Posted August 8th, 2012 by Patrick van der Vorst

In this week’s blog, Patrick van der Vorst of ValueMyStuff asks if you have any antique gems hidden in your home. Could that old bike, toaster or typewriter be worth good money? Patrick gives you tips on what kinds of brands and items to look out for, not just in your house but at car boot sales and junk shops.

And if you’re going to a car boot sale, don’t miss last month’s video blog on the subject. Another thing worth keeping an eye out for in these kinds of places is antique cutlery, including silver spoons and forks.

Don’t forget our competition to win 1 of 3 iPod Shuffles. We’ve had our first winner, but there are still two more Shuffles to give away – just come and “like” us on Facebook for a chance to win!

Found this is really useful, keep doing these vblogs and add a regular weekly slot on Youtube Channel would be great.

Hi – is there any market for old Amstrads? We are trying to de-clutter our house. What would be the most cost-effective way to find the value of anything we don’t want. We also have quite a big book collection. June
